Summer Step-Up
 
In addition to our regular  individualized tutoring, we will be offering a series of reading, math, and science classes for students entering grades 1st through 6th.  Summer Step-Up is a standards-based program that integrates engaging activities with hands-on learning while preparing students for their next grade level.  Each session will offer 1 hour classes in either Math, Reading, Science, or No-Cook Cooking.  Classes will be held at the new campus of Chandler United Methodist Church.
 
Students can sign up for one, two, or three classes per session. 
1 class $40; 2 classes $80, 3 classes $100.

                                          Session III                  July 7 - July 10
                                          Session IV                  July 14 - July 17
 
All sessions run Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 
 
 * Please note: Reading, Math, and Science/No-cook Cooking classes will be held consecutively.
 
Book Club -  This program is geared towards students who will be entering the 1st - 3rd grade.  Emphasis here will include phonemic awareness, phonics, and comprehension strategies - all supported by rich literature.
 
Read On! - For students entering the 4th - 6th grade. Students will learn how to apply the skills needed for comprehension.  Both fiction and non-fiction strategies will be covered.
 
Math 4 Me! - 1st - 6th grade - Students will learn to master new skills each day such as word problems, basic facts, fractions, algebra concepts, geometry, and probability and statistics.
 
Science Camp/No-Cook Cooking - Students in grades 1 - 6 will be engaged in a fun, creative environment where basic science principles will be illustrated using everyday household items.  Children will also learn how to create yummy and healthful treats to share with family and friends.
